To standardize the market operation order of alginate industry, rectify the disorderly competition chaos, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the industry, the Special Seminar on Alginate Industry Self-discipline and Market Order Standardization was organized and held by China Algae Industry Association at Qingdao Huanghai Hotel on the morning of June 23. The seminar was chaired by Dai Guoqing, Secretary-General of China Algae Industry Association. Industry experts and representatives of major alginate production and operation enterprises attended the meeting for communication, and jointly discussed new ideas for industry self-discipline upgrading and standardized market development.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Dai Guoqing objectively analyzed the current development situation of the alginate industry, and directly pointed out the long-standing prominent problems in the industry, such as homogeneous competition, low-price internal involution, non-standard operation and inconsistent standard implementation. He pointed out that alginate is China's advantageous export seaweed product, with strong overall industrial competitiveness and broad market space, but disorderly competition has seriously damaged the overall interests of the industry and restricted the quality upgrading of the industry. The association will give full play to its leading and coordinating role, promote the establishment of a sound industry self-discipline mechanism, unify the consensus on industry development, standardize market operation behaviors, and create a fair and orderly industry development environment.

In the meeting exchange session, participating enterprise representatives and industry experts delivered speeches in turn. Combined with the actual conditions of production and operation, market sales, export compliance and other aspects, they conducted an in-depth analysis of the existing pain points of the industry. The participants carried out heated discussions on key topics including strengthening industry self-discipline, eliminating vicious low-price competition, improving the integrity management system, and jointly building a sound market ecology, put forward suggestions actively, and reached a number of industry co-governance consensuses, which provided practical reference schemes for the follow-up market standardization management.

This seminar further unified the thinking of the whole industry, clarified the working direction of standardized and high-quality development of the alginate industry, effectively pooled the joint efforts of enterprises and consolidated the foundation of industry co-governance.
